Kokanee (Oncorhynchus nerka)
Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife
The one fact that finds kokanee: they hold at whatever depth the water sits near 50°F, so their depth moves through the season — shallow and reachable in spring, deep and offshore by summer. Adults leave the lake for tributaries from late October.
Why it made the list: Fetched 2026-09-08: page loads on wdfw.wa.gov with the near-50°F depth rule, the late-October tributary run and a county list of Washington kokanee waters.
